COVID-19 CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY UPDATE
The NSW Government announced that Construction sites in Greater Sydney can resume work effective from Saturday 31 July 2021.
We do however have some strict guidelines that we must follow to ensure our workplaces remain safe.
Therefore, please be aware that in order for builders and trades to continue with planned works, the following guidelines must be adhered to:
· All workers must maintain physical distance and apply the 1 person per 4 square meter rules onsite.
·For residential homes, construction is allowed where there is no contact between the workers and residents.
· Only 1 trade is allowed on-site at any one time, however a COVID marshal or Site Supervisor can also remain to ensure the correct processes are followed.
· There is a limit of up to 2 workers for indoor services and five workers for outdoor services.
· Any contractors who live in one of the 8 LGS’s of concern (i.e., Fairfield, Blacktown, Cumberland, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, Parramatta and Georges River) are NOT permitted or allowed to work on our sites until after 28 August 2021.
·The government has announced that work sites will be able to operate on Sundays and public holidays (if we choose to) for the remainder of the year to make up for any time lost.
In addition, the Pinnacle Team will also be ensuring the following takes place on all our job sites:
· All sites will have mandatory QR code system for recording anyone who attends / visits site.
· Where possible, we will maintain at least 1.5 metre social distancing.
· All employees and trades will wear masks whilst on-site.
· A COVID safety plan has been put in place, and ach site will have an allocated COVID Marshal to ensure all restrictions are complied with whilst on-site;
· Everyone will be asked to follow good hygiene practice and encourage others to do the same (i.e. Wash your hands with soap and water regularly, use sanitizer, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, avoid shaking hands or touching other people whilst on-site etc.).
· If anyone is unwell, they have been advised to remain home and get tested.
